Monday, April 9

Kristen Stewart celebrated her 22nd birthday.  She received online well wishes for her big day from her “Snow White and the Huntsman” co-stars Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, and Sam Claflin.

Chris Weitz will set his sights on writing instead of directing - on the set of "New Moon."

Publisher Little, Brown announced that “New Moon” director, Chris Weitz, is writing a young adult trilogy.  The first book, “The Young World,” will be released in spring 2014.

“The Young World” is the gripping first installment of a trilogy set in the not-so-distant future in a post-apocalyptic New York City following the catastrophic destruction of the world as we know it. An unknown trauma has left every child and adult on earth dead, but, for unknown reason, teenagers are spared.  Anyone between the onset of puberty and the age of twenty-one are in a world with no authority figures. And while that world would normally be a teenager’s fantasy, this world has no heat, running water, television, video games, phones, or Internet. Teenagers are the heirs to a world brought back to the Stone Age, and now they must learn to master it in order to survive.

Tuesday, April 10

R.I.P. 100 Monkeys.  Last month it was announced that Jackson Rathbone was leaving 100 Monkeys, the band he has been part of since it formed in 2008.  The band said then that they intended to continue with two new performers, since bandmate, Jerad Anderson, also had left. On Friday, it was announced on the band’s website, hours before a show with its two new band members, that due to actions taken by Jackson’s lawyers that the band could no longer use the name 100 Monkeys moving forward. Within another hour the site was gone.  For my full report on the end of 100 Monkeys and a review of Friday night’s show click here.

Maggie Grace in "Lockout."

“Lockout” starring Maggie Grace and “The Cabin in the Woods” with Jodelle Ferland opened in theaters. Early box office numbers indicate that neither was able to take the top spot over “The Hunger Games,” but “The Cabin in the Woods,” which earned a 92% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, took in $14.9 million and third place. “Lockout” did not garner strong reviews and only took in $6.3 million.

Bill Condon confirms upcoming “Breaking Dawn, Part 2″ re-shoots with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Posted on Apr 15, 2012 by Amy with 8 Comments.

Rumors began circulating yesterday regarding re-shoots for “Breaking Dawn, Part 2″ taking place later this month in Canada. In “A Production Update from Bill Condon” on The Twilight Saga Facebook page he confirmed the following:

Our Part Two puzzle is finally coming into full view, and in a few weeks we’ll be heading back north to pick up some additional shots – the last tiny missing pieces. We’re not shooting any new scenes or dialogue, just some technical work with some of our cast and stunt actors.

I am really looking forward to being back on set with some of the friends I’ve made on my Twilight journey, like the great Guillermo Navarro, our cinematographer, and his crew. And yes, Rob and Kristen will be there too, to pop in those gold contacts one last time…

He also noted that a new trailer is in the works and that the first posters will be “unlike any “Twilight” images you’ve seen before.”

Happy Birthday, Kristen Stewart!

Kristen Stewart accepting her Favorite Movie Actress Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award. She knows how to handle a sword thanks to "Snow White."

Happy 22nd Birthday to Kristen Stewart!  It was a year ago that she was wrapping up her time as Bella Swan Cullen, but we won’t see her final appearance, in vampire form, until “Breaking Dawn, Part 2″ arrives in theaters this November.  Luckily we won’t have to wait until then to see Kristen kick butt on the big screen. “Snow White and the Huntsman” starring Kristen as Snow White, Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, and Charlize Theron as the evil Queen Ravenna charges into theaters on June 1.  While still waiting for a release date, it also is expected that “On the Road,”  in which Kristen co-stars with Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley, will be released this year.  It recently was announced that Kristen will make a cameo in “K-11,” a movie written and directed by her mother, Jules Stewart.

Twilight Weekend Girls Getaway Gathers in Gatlinburg, Tenn. in June with Alex Meraz, Booboo Stewart & Peter Facinelli

Posted on Apr 09, 2012 by Amy with 12 Comments.

How does a weekend getaway in a massive cabin in the Smokey Mountains with your best Twilight friends and visits from Alex Meraz, Booboo Stewart and Peter Facinelli sound?  It sounds perfect to me.

Twilight Weekend Girls Getaway is being put on by Twilight fans the weekend of June 1 to 3 in Gatlinburg, Tenn. at the Gatlinburg Fall Resort.  The weekend’s events include a welcome reception and gift exchange, movie screenings, and games including Edward Cullen’s Deal or No Deal, Twilight Fear Factor Live, Wolfpack Bingo, Twilight Survivor. The “Real” Edward Cullen will be on hand all weekend for photo ops and to play along with the games and “The Hillywood Show” will be on hand for a pajama party on Friday evening and appearing throughout the day on Saturday. Joining the weekend’s festivities for Q&A, photo ops and autographs are Peter Facinelli, Alex Meraz and Booboo Stewart at a red carpet event at the Hard Rock Café on Saturday night.

“This event actually started out as a much smaller one. We were a small group of women that just wanted to get together for the weekend and spend that time doing all things ‘Twilight!’” said event organizer, Jamie Phelps, who has experience in event planning. “The planning started, and kept growing from there! We had a weekend, a location, and then it was ‘why not get a celebrity to make an appearance?’ Then friends told friends, and it grew from there. Now we are staying at this gorgeous cabin mansion in the mountains and all of these amazing women are coming! It’s going to be a great time!”

The cost of this weekend, which includes all activities and events, one photo op and autograph with each celebrity, and food and lodging for Friday and Saturday nights, is $500.  Separate V.I.P. experiences are available with each of the actors for an additional cost.  For more information, contact Jamie Phelps at jamiephlps@gmail.com. You also can visit the event’s facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/TwilightGirlsGetaway.
