Dr. Carlisle Cullen takes third place on “The 2012 Forbes Fictional 15″ richest characters list

Posted on Apr 24, 2012 by Amy with 15 Comments.

Dr. Carlisle Cullen, with his wife, Esme, at their son's wedding. The Cullen's are the wealthiest vampires on "Forbes" annual list.

Cullen patriarch, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, is worth $36.3 billion according to “Forbes” 2012 list of wealthiest fictional characters.  He takes third place behind Smaug, the ancient gold-red dragon from “The Hobbit” who has amassed a fortune of  coins, jewels and antiques worth $62 billion, and Flintheart Glomgold, the diamond mining magnate who took over as the world’s richest duck when he won a bet on race with Scrooge McDuck. The bet left Scrooge penniless and Glomgold with his fortune combining to equal $51.9 billion.

Dr. Cullen topped the list in 2010 and dropped to second place in 2011.  While he fell another place this year, he saw an increase of his wealth by $100 million over the last year due to smart investments and compound interest.

“Forbes” notes that the small-town doctor is an avid deer hunter and art collector with a sentimental streak.  It incorrectly states that he “gave second wife private Brazilian island for wedding gift.” Cullen still is married to his first and only wife, Esme Cullen, née Platt, and while he has gifted her a private island off the coast of Brazil, the date the gift was given is unknown.

The vampire banked a small nest egg in 1670 that has been collecting compound interest ever since.  In the past it has been noted that Cullen has made long-term investments in steel, gold and oil.  He also has a strong financial advisor in his daughter, Alice Cullen, who advised him to invest early in Wal-Mart and Apple.  In addition he’s earned a doctor’s salary for 340 years with limited living expenses. In addition to the aforementioned island, Cullen has invested in real estate with several valuable properties.  He also owns a yacht and a collection of Renaissance art.

The 372-year-old vampire is the father of six and has one granddaughter.

It's better to attack the pillow than Bella's head.

What exactly did Edward Cullen do to this pillow?  Were those rips caused by his teeth or his fingernails?  You can buy it and figure out if Edward nommed it or not if you have several thousand dollars sitting around.

This pillow is from the set of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1” and the ebay description states:
This is the pillow used on the bed during the sex scene between Edward and Bella in Breaking Dawn Part 1. Tears and rips are visible on the pillow case. Pillow measures 36″ in length and 20″ in width. The pillowcase is a cream white and shows discoloration to show its use. Make up stains from the main actors can be seen on the pillow. Was obtained directly from the filming and production crew from Breaking Dawn Part 1. This pillow includes a Certificate of Authenticity from Hollywood PARTS.

Let your imagination run wild. The current bid is $2,999.99.  You can place your bid and check out the pillow here.

Thanks to TwilightLexicon and TeamJack for bringing this one to our attention.
