“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1″ nominated for eight Razzie Awards

This year the Golden Rasberry Awards, or Razzies, announced their nominations the day before the Oscars instead of handing them out. The Razzies will be awarded appropriately on April 1. Like years’ past, “The Twilight Saga” did not escape unscathed.  ”The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1″ was dishonored with eight nominations – Worst Picture, Worst Actor – Taylor Lautner, Worst Actress – Kristen Stewart, Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Director – Bill Condon, “Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel,” and Worst Screenplay – Melissa Rosenberg.

“Breaking Dawn, Part 1″ wasn’t the most dishonored movie this year. Adam Sandler received 11 nominations.

The RAZZIES® were created in 1980 as a logical antidote to Tinsel Town’s annual glut of self-congratulatory awards byJohn Wilson, author of THE OFFICIAL RAZZIE® MOVIE GUIDE and EVERYTHING I KNOW I LEARNED AT THE MOVIES. Nominees were determined by mailing ballots to 657 voters in 46 U.S. states and 17 foreign countries. “Winners” will be announced, appropriately, on Sunday, April 1 – April Fools’ Day.

Ha! too funny… But yeah bd deserves it.

  2. Lindsay says:

I understand why they are nominated, but as a true fan of the books I just like the movie as well … Maybe I’m not as critical when I see a Twilight movie as when I see other movies :)

Haha too funny xD Not going to lie but the movie does deserve it…

I just mean that they could have done so much more with it to make it better since they plit it in 2. They should have kept to the book more.

You have no clue what you are talking about and no class.

All of you suck I love the books and the movies. Every one how played in the move were good. I am the wal-mart info go to for the movie. Do I wish there was a little move of the movie yes. Yes there were parts I wish that had been longer and parts that I would have liked to see. But even still the movie was great so leave it alone and pick on a different movie

I guess I have horrible taste in movies then. Because most of the movies I thoroughly enjoy seem to get nominated for Razzies. I’m sorry, but why must we critique EVERYTHING? What happened to a movie just being an escape from reality for an hour or two?

For the record, I loved Breaking Dawn. But come on, you can’t be surprised that it was nominated. I don’t know what these people will do with themselves when there are no more Twilight films to bash, lol.

  8. Jennifer says:

They have no idea what there talking about. I read the books and loved the movie! Why bash a great movie, great actors and bill condon did did an amazing job. I cant wait to see part 2

  9. Sarah says:

I completely agree with Amanda! At least I’m not the only one with that opinion; I watched all the films up to BD and only then read the books. Some people like some movies, some don’t, but if the Twilight movies have done so well, who cares if they get nominated for a silly prize only made to put downers on people’s days?

Worst director Bill Condon? Really? Okay so why does he even have an Oscar if he’s the worst director -.-”?
And common okay I do understand that some people don’t like the movie and think they could’ve done it better. Maybe they could I don’t know cause I wasn’t their while filming. But they did their best for their fans. And I mean they don’t deserve to be called the worst actors. That’s just no, they don’t deserve it.
And to be honest I thought they did it lots better in this one then the others… maybe it just me but yeah.
They get nominated alot for razzies aren’t they?
But did they ever win one? Not that I can remember.
Maybe it’s just to scare the fans, and to make it lots worser then it actually is.

You know, as stupid as this is it still bothers me. Yes, we know the Twilight movies aren’t perfect, ut heaven forbid girls have something that brings them joy. The Transformers movies suck in my opinion, yet you never hear the Razzies complain about Megan ‘I have zero talent’ Fox. If it serves the male population than it’s okay. Such hipocrace should not be allowed.

And by the way… I love Adam Sandler movies! He’s hillarious.

  13. Jessica says:

That is mean and I think you are probably obsessed about something so why go and criticize someone who just wants to voice her own opinion. Why are you even responding on here anyway? If you are not a fan of the books or movies, you have no right to be here. They movies are not as good as the books but out of all of the movies Breaking Dawn was the best.
