Sun Times: Robert Pattinson Says Goodbye to the Twilight Saga

By the time you’re reading this article, Robert Pattinson will have wrapped his final scene for “Breaking Dawn: Part 2.”
In a way, he’s breaking up with his ethereal BFF.
“It does feel like a breakup. I do love the guy — and I’m going to miss him,” Pattinson, 24, says during an interview with the Sun-Times on a cool Sunday afternoon from his hotel suite in Santa Monica, Calif. “I prefer to think of ending this franchise like leaving school. It’s the last day of high school.”
He mulls over the plusses of leaving behind his romantic alter ego.
“I’ll be very glad not to put those contacts in anymore or have to put on the sparkling makeup,” he says with a giggle.
The thing about Pattinson is, he likes to giggle. A lot. Then his voice softens.
“It’s been amazing to play the same character through so many adventures. And it’s so strange because my life has changed so much over these years, but ‘Twilight’ and Edward Cullen will always be a part of me. It’s been my whole life. My whole 20s,” he says. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

This was a really good interview. I’m really excited to see the birthing scene now because he seems to have put an entire new perspective unto it. When reading that scene in the book, I never pictured Edward as sad but more resolved on turning Bella into a vampire at that moment, so it will be interesting to see how Rob performs it.
I’m soo excited to see breaking dawn!!! I’ll bet there was\will be tears on the last day of filming..it’s gonna be sooooo sad when we walk out of that theater after seeing part two
but I’m glad he’s appreciative towards the franchise in this interview…his attitude towards twilight bugged me in the last one..
awww parting is such sweet sorrow. although im sad to see it end im really looking foward to seeing the actors grow in the future and see their sucess grow… in very good way

I’m so sad to see it end but I know the actors are ready to move on. Maybe we’ll get some more books soon atleast. We can hope right? lol
wow rob was very sweet in this interview. even though i am very sad that it’s ending i can’t wait to see breaking dawn because i know that they worked the hardest to make us fans happy.

Yeah, they’re focusing on THG right now; main characters are being cast all over the place for that movie; it’s like when Twilight originally came out except maybe actually even bigger…
I can’t help but wonder if another reason they’re not posting as much is because it doesn’t seem like fans are posting much more on this site; it’s not like there’s a huge rally for HGE to post more, lol.
Well I mean, obviously it’s the “Dead Part” of Twilight right now, cause they just got done shooting.

Major disappointment…
Yeah, but it’s more than just the movie. This site used to follow what the actors were doing, too, and anything related to Twilight- not just the films. And they’re not even keeping up with that stuff anymore. There’s been so much going on with Rob and Taylor right now, and half the stuff, they haven’t posted anything about. There’s also been some Twilight mentions recently in other popular things that if this were a few years back, they definitely would have posted but whatevs. Clearly fans have moved on from this site because there’s barely any comments on the EW pictures, and as I said before, I think this is also factoring into why they aren’t posting like crazy here anymore.
I was reading through some of your blog posts on this internet site and I believe this website is really instructive! Continue putting up.
what we all need to do is talk to stephenie meyer and tell her that we want more books like midnight sun and i think she should write more books following the lives of the cullen family with renesmee and the relationship that develops further between jake and renesmee and the visits with charlie and see what happens with charlie and leah and seths mom. then all the stars can come back and make more movies. LOL
