Back in September, a set visit auction for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 brought in a whopping $60,100 for Stand Up 2 Cancer, and now a second auction – this time, including a meet and greet with Robert Pattinson – has been completed, bringing in $80,000 for the GO Campaign (which “improves the lives of orphans and vulnerable children throughout the world by partnering with local grassroots organizations that provide the care and services the children require to survive and thrive”)!

Whoa…….Twilight peeps are AMAZING!!!! And for such a great cause!!!! Keep it up!!!
Wow !!! Twilight fans are passionate that’s for sure !
I’m sorry, but I find that to be one of the saddest things ever. People won’t donate a dime to most charities. But you give them the opportunity to visit a movie set and/or actor and suddenly everyone has money to burn. Sad, sad, sad.
This was for a charity, people need incentives to give to charities most of the time, so why not use something that obviously has huge followings to try garner interest?
Yes the ones who paid the 80k seem silly but in the end their interest in the prize gave the charity a huge helping hand.
Yeah, I know the money went to charity. I just think it’s sad that people need incentives in order to actually give to charity.
Some people are too rich! I wish I could just shell out that much money, man!
cuse me but did you see that the proceeds from the auction GO TO CHARITY??? that is $80,000 for a worthy cause!
Uh, yeah I did! You twisted it all up. I wasn’t saying that it didn’t go to people who need it. I’m saying it would be nice to just be able to drop $80,000 like that whenever I wanted. I was just simply stating that.
And you know they didn’t just donate solely because they wanted to help, they wanted to visit the set. They obviously could have afforded to donate that money without getting anything in return, if they wanted.
who cares what their motive was?? point is they gave 80,000 to a good cause.
Yeah, whatever. I said the truth. And I wasn’t looking for a reply or an argument, btw. You can’t even post on here anymore without someone turning everything into a debate.
@ Rhiannon
Hello, don’t you realize nobody cares?? The post was about the set visit not how much was raised for charity. Everyone’s more concerned with the fact that they’re not the person who had that much money to visit the set and see Rob! The money going to charity was only an added bonus. Especially for the people who paid that much, so they can feel like they’re not a total crazy fan and can say “well, it went to a good cause.”
Look at the post title: Breaking Dawn’ Set Visit Sold For $80,000
It’s not: Twilight fan donates $80,000 to charity or Fan donates $80,000 to charity to visit set
Everyone cares about the set visit. “Charity” wasn’t even in the title.
@Morganxoxo: THANK YOU very much!
