Almost only a year
I understand the symbolism of them playing chess, but….what are the odds that we’ll get lucky and they’re playing strip chess??? Lol

That’s just what I thought when I saw that. I thought OMG they did a red and white chess set to symbolize the cover of the book!!! Exciting… ik they did that in Twilight the movie. Did they do symbolism like that in New Moon or Eclipse?

Hey just thought id mention that they did do the book covers in New Moon and Eclipse (will Eclipse I think). In New Moon if you look when Carlisle is burning Bella’s bloody bandage after the Jasper attack the bandage resembles the flower on the front cover of the book. They zoom into it so I assume it was intentional. Then in Eclipse I’m not so sure but the second shot of Bella’s bloody arm after she distracts Riley and Victoria…there are 2 trails of blood and a small line connecting them which could be the ribbon but that just might be me looking into it a bit too much lol!
her face on the last pic looks like shes saying ”you are cheating i saw you” and probably him like ”what?”

No offence but they are supposed to be going at it like rabbits on this honey moon, not playing F***ing chess. I get the symbolism but its so gay. I hope they dont make this movie into one giant piece of corny crap like new moon. that is all.
In the book edward has this plan to keep Bella busy, so she wont think about the sex anymore … maybe this is something they do to keep bella busy … they will have plenty of sex … I HOPE
But I like the chessboard, just the way I liked the apple in Twilight

Totally agree!!!! I love the reference for all of us book lovers. That was one of my favorite things about Twilight; that the book lovers understood a lot of the layers put into the film that other people weren’t even aware of. I’m so a fan of Summit after these movies.
I agree New Moon wasn’t good but I see nothing wrong with chess. I hope they do other things then playing chess so maybe their filming this in case. I know they have their waterfall scenes, night scene and in the room so that’s a lot of sex.
The movie will be pg 13. I really don’t think there will be that much sex. Plus when has Bella ever played chess? IT just seems like too corny of a reference to the books to me.
They do play chess in the book. Edward is trying to distract her after the first time they have sex because he feels bad for bruising her. I believe he also brings her scuba diving and hiking or something, so she’s too tired to have sex and ends up going right to sleep. THEN he finally breaks down and they get back to the sex. But this is from the book, it’s not JUST a reference to the book cover.
Anyway, I like it. I care about the books a lot and I’m glad that what I’ve seen and heard so far seems to stick close to the book.
But its soo lame
